Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is not playing around when it comes to illegal immigration. He recently signed into law the state Senate Bill 1718, which has caused quite a stir among Florida’s illegal alien population. The bill includes a number of provisions aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration and its effects are already being felt.
Yvette Cruz, representing the Farmworkers Association of Florida, expressed her concern about the potential impact of the law before it was enacted. She noted that there were already reports of people leaving the state, and she expects more departures to come. Well, Yvette, maybe if people didn’t come to Florida illegally in the first place, they wouldn’t have to worry about leaving now!
Governor DeSantis made it clear that this law is a necessary response to the chaos at the border caused by President Biden and his administration. He understands that Florida cannot passively sit by while the federal government neglects its duty to protect American citizens. And let’s be honest, folks, we all know that Biden’s border crisis is the direct result of his reckless policies.
So, what does this comprehensive anti-illegal immigration law actually do? Well, for starters, transporting undocumented immigrants into Florida with knowledge of their status is now a felony. That’s right, folks, the days of smuggling people across state lines are over. And if you’re an unauthorized immigrant with an out-of-state driver’s license, well, tough luck. Because those licenses are no longer valid in Florida.
But the fun doesn’t stop there, folks. The law also expands worker verification requirements, which means that companies with 25 or more employees must use E-Verify to confirm the eligibility of new hires. And let me tell you, any company that chooses to exploit this crisis by hiring illegal aliens instead of hardworking Floridians will face serious consequences. It’s time to put America first and support our own citizens, don’t you think?

Of course, there are always a few people who have concerns about these strong measures against illegal immigration. Some employers are worried about workforce shortages, particularly in the agricultural industry. But let me ask you this: should we prioritize the interests of illegal immigrants over the well-being of our own citizens? I don’t think so. We need to stand up for what’s right and ensure that Florida taxpayers are not burdened by the costs of illegal immigration.
Governor DeSantis understands this, and he’s not afraid to place blame where it’s due. During a recent press conference, he made it clear that he holds President Biden and his administration responsible for creating this mess. And he’s absolutely right. If it weren’t for the lax immigration policies and lack of border security under Biden, we wouldn’t be dealing with this illegal immigration problem in the first place.
Florida has long been a haven for illegal immigrants, with an estimated 775,000 living in the state. But thanks to Governor DeSantis’ strong stance on immigration, things are starting to change. It’s time to take back our state and put an end to this madness. So, kudos to Governor DeSantis for having the courage to do what it takes to protect Florida and its citizens. This is just another reason why he’s a rising star in the Republican Party and a true conservative champion.
