The mainstream media has neglected the concerning issue of the U.S.-Canadian border, which has not received enough attention from the Biden Administration. A letter obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation reveals that more than a dozen Republican lawmakers have urged Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to take action on the crisis at the northern border. The Swanton sector of the U.S.-Canadian border, which includes areas in New York and Vermont, has experienced a nearly 900% increase in migrant encounters. This is a significant contrast to the southern border, which has experienced numerous records of migrant encounters, with more than 2.3 million in fiscal year 2022 alone.

New York Representative Elise Stefanik, among other Republican lawmakers, penned a letter stating that the northern border is in danger due to the influx of border encounters, drug smuggling, insufficient Border Patrol agents, and inadequate security measures. The lawmakers requested that the Department of Homeland Security provide a comprehensive plan to address the issue and reduce the entry of illegal migrants and illicit drugs into the United States through the northern border.
The Biden Administration’s approach to the northern border crisis appears lacking as they have redirected resources from the north to the south to aid in handling illegal migrants. This decision shows irresponsibility and a lack of concern for our nation’s safety and security. It is unacceptable that the administration is not taking adequate measures to safeguard our borders and prevent the entry of illegal migrants into the country.
It is imperative that the Biden Administration acts to secure our northern border and deter the entry of illegal migrants into the country. This involves augmenting the number of Border Patrol agents and equipping them with the requisite resources to perform their duties efficiently. Additionally, the administration must guarantee that sufficient security measures are in place to halt drug smuggling and illegal immigration. The time has come for the Biden Administration to acknowledge their inaction and take accountability for addressing this crisis before it exacerbates any further.
