Yeehaw! Grab your guns and celebrate, folks, because Louisiana has just hopped on the freedom train by passing a constitutional-carry law. That’s right, residents can now pack heat without needing a pesky permit. Governor Jeff Landry, a true American hero, signed the bill into law with a big smile on his face. He knows that law-abiding citizens shouldn’t have to ask for government permission to protect themselves and their families. Thank you, Governor Landry, for standing up for our Second Amendment rights!

Now, some naysayers will undoubtedly wring their hands and fret over this law, but fear not. The 27 states that already passed similar permitless carry laws are doing just fine. Heck, even Alaska, where yours truly is from, has been A-OK with this rule. And in Ohio, where they did the same thing back in 2022, gun crimes have actually gone down in major cities. Imagine that!
Governor Landry made a bold campaign promise to bring constitutional carry to Louisiana, and he’s already delivering on it just 57 days into his term. The crime rates, especially in places like New Orleans, have been climbing, so it’s about time we let law-abiding citizens defend themselves. It’s common sense, really.
Open carry has been allowed in Louisiana for a while, but concealed carry is where it’s at. Just think about it – a bad guy won’t know who’s packing heat, which might just make them think twice before causing trouble. It’s like a real-life game of hide and seek, but with more firepower.
And get this – South Carolina might be next to jump on the constitutional carry bandwagon. That would make it the 29th state to embrace this freedom. Let’s keep the momentum going, America!
