Just days after Tax Day, a report has revealed the staggering costs American taxpayers bear due to illegal immigration. Under President Joe Biden’s administration, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that illegal aliens and their citizen children cost taxpayers over $150 billion annually. That’s a whopping $8,776 for each illegal immigrant and their citizen child, while the burden on each taxpayer adds up to $1,156 every year.

According to FAIR, the taxes contributed by illegal aliens only amount to around $32 billion, leaving a massive net fiscal cost of $150.7 billion to taxpayers. The report highlights the immense strain on state and federal welfare costs, reaching nearly $14 billion yearly, as well as an eye-watering $42 billion in annual medical costs for illegal aliens.
Despite these staggering figures, there are ongoing efforts by special interest groups to lobby lawmakers to expand tax credits for illegal aliens, such as the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). The current loophole allows illegal alien parents to claim this credit for their children using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers, thus adding to the financial burden on taxpayers.
Under the Biden administration, the number of illegal aliens in the country has surged by nearly four million, making up half of the foreign-born population growth. The current foreign-born population stands at a record 51.4 million, in stark contrast to the fewer than 20 million just 34 years ago.
The costs of illegal immigration on American taxpayers are simply staggering and continue to rise at an alarming rate. The callous exploitation of loopholes in the tax system only adds insult to injury, as hardworking Americans bear the burden of the administration’s immigration policies. The dire financial implications of illegal immigration demand serious attention and action from lawmakers to protect the interests of American taxpayers.
