Trump Torches “Nikki New Tax” Haley, Defends GOP Turf in NH Rally

Former President Donald Trump took aim at former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley during a rally in Atkinson, New Hampshire, as he sought to cement his standing in the upcoming primary. Trump called out Haley for trying to attract independent voters, accusing her of trying to “infiltrate” the 2024 GOP presidential primary.

Emphasizing the need to focus on defeating Democrats, Trump criticized Haley’s “inappropriate” and divisive remarks, especially after she trailed behind Gov. Ron DeSantis in a recent poll. He also questioned Haley’s entitlement reform policies and dismissed her favorable polling numbers against President Joe Biden, highlighting his own lead in South Carolina over her.

With Trump averaging higher support than Haley in both New Hampshire and South Carolina, he didn’t hold back in poking fun at her, even suggesting a new nickname, “Nikki New Tax.” He also took a shot at billionaire Charles Koch for backing Haley, while also targeting Biden and Gov. Chris Sununu for their connections to her.

Vivek Ramaswamy, a Trump endorser, joined the former president in New Hampshire and rallied for election integrity reforms, framing the political landscape as a battle between the “permanent state” and the everyday citizen.

Trump’s remarks in the rally reinforced his commitment to maintaining his influence in the GOP and his determination to secure victory in the primary.
