In yet another episode of “Gun Grabbing With Joe Biden,” the president has once again gone beyond the limits of the Constitution to strip the licenses from 122 gun dealers. This move has been labeled a “backdoor violation of the Second Amendment” by critics, and rightfully so. The Biden administration has been escalating its revocation of gun dealer licenses at an alarming rate, angering both the firearms industry and law-abiding gun owners.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has revoked more licenses in the current fiscal year than ever before. Prior to Biden taking office, the ATF mainly issued warnings to firearms dealers for legal violations, recognizing their value as a source of information on suspicious gun buyers. However, under this administration, warnings seem to be a thing of the past.
While Democrats claim these actions are meant to address “gun violence,” Second Amendment advocates argue that restricting the rights of law-abiding gun owners will not effectively address the issue of violent crimes committed by individuals with mental health issues. ATF Director Steve Dettelbach’s statement about holding accountable a “few dealers” engaging in violations seems unfounded, considering the unprecedented number of license revocations happening under Biden’s watch.
Colorado firearms dealer Anthony Navarro, who had his license revoked, believes that this policy is simply a means to violate the Second Amendment. Whether or not his case was warranted, the significant increase in license revocation under this administration raises concerns. The history of the Democrat Party suggests that when they fail to achieve their goals through legal means, they resort to changing laws or using executive overreach.
This president has consistently demonstrated a willingness to push his radical left agenda on America, even if it means circumventing the Constitution. The Democrat Party’s relentless efforts to undermine the freedoms that define this great nation should not be taken lightly. We must never take our freedoms for granted and must fight to preserve the principles on which this country was founded.
