ACLU has struck again with their latest attempt to undermine parental rights and protect the so-called “right” to abortion for minors in Michigan. The ACLU, alongside their buddies at Human Rights Watch and the Michigan Organization on Adolescent Sexual Health, are shedding tears over a law that requires parental consent for minors seeking abortions.

According to their latest sob story, this law is apparently a total buzzkill for minors because it dares to suggest that parents should have a say in their child’s decision to terminate a pregnancy. The ACLU and friends argue that this law is just downright cruel and unusual punishment for minors, with the process to waive parental consent being labeled as “traumatizing.”
Their report is chock-full of emotional tales from healthcare providers, attorneys, and young activists who are all up in arms about the audacity of requiring parental consent. Parental involvement in such a life-altering decision is not only common sense, but it’s also the law of the land in Michigan. These liberal activists need to get over themselves and stop trying to strip parents of their fundamental rights.
In response to the ACLU’s melodramatic plea to repeal the law, Genevieve Marnon, director of Right to Life of Michigan Legislative, hit the nail on the head by pointing out that these activists are more concerned with pushing their own agenda than respecting parental rights.
