Biden Forced to Sign Bill Saving School Gun Ed Programs

President Joe Biden begrudgingly signed the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, a piece of legislation that he had vehemently opposed. Sponsored by Rep. Mark Green, a Republican from Tennessee, this bill aims to safeguard funding for school archery and hunting programs. According to the Sportsmen’s Alliance, the bill prevents the Department of Education from obstructing federal funding to public schools that offer these outdoor programs.

The controversial move by the Biden administration to withhold funding for schools with such programs, as per the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) passed last year, caused uproar. Fox News, always keeping a close eye on the missteps of Biden and his cronies, reported on the devastating impact this had on millions of students nationwide, as they were left without access to these important programs.

Republican Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina wasted no time in expressing their concerns to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. They rightly pointed out that the misinterpretation of the BSCA by the Department of Education had led to the defunding of archery and hunter education classes. These programs provide invaluable life skills, teach firearm safety, and foster self-esteem in countless children. But it seems the Biden administration couldn’t care less about these crucial aspects of education.

Ironically, Cornyn had a hand in helping Biden pass the BSCA, only to realize that it would be used in conjunction with the ESEA to withhold funding from these programs. Thankfully, this newly signed legislation has amended the ESEA, closing the loophole that allowed such injustices to occur in the first place.

It comes as no surprise that Biden had no choice but to reluctantly sign this bill, given the overwhelming support it received in Congress. With backing like that, any attempt to veto the legislation would surely be thwarted. It is clear that Biden had intended to prevent millions of children from receiving firearm education and training, aligning with his progressive agenda to disarm law-abiding citizens.

Fortunately, common sense prevailed as Congress recognized the significant benefits these programs offer to students. They understood that teaching children how to use guns and other weapons safely and legally is crucial for their personal development. By passing this legislation, they have taken a powerful stance against Biden’s attempts to undermine the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.

One can only wonder what Biden’s next move will be in his relentless quest to control and restrict access to firearms. It is evident that he will go to great lengths to disarm the American people, trampling on their rights and ignoring the positive impact that responsible firearm education can have on individuals and communities.
