In a recent appearance on “News Central,” CNN national security analyst Juliette Kayyem suggested that former President Donald Trump is effectively using a “threat of violence” to galvanize his supporters.
Kayyem expressed concern about the upcoming 2024 election, emphasizing that the presence of violence or the threat of violence is becoming normalized within our democratic process. She pointed to Trump’s apparent casualness about violence as one of his successes and called for everyone to brace themselves for a potentially tumultuous year.
CNN’s Kayyem: Trump Is Utilizing ‘Threat of Violence’ to Rally His People.
Not once have I heard a threat of violence coming from Donald Trump. I have on many occasions heard Democrat Members of Congress inciting violence towards Conservatives & SCOTUS. https://t.co/jePQGNQHn3— Steve Kerwin (@stevenkerwin) December 27, 2023
The analyst also criticized the Republican party for not condemning Trump’s language and the potential use of violence to rally his supporters, warning that this could create an environment in which violence becomes increasingly acceptable.
Kayyem emphasized the permissive nature of the current political structure and raised fears about the potential consequences if Trump were to secure the GOP nomination and ultimately win the presidency in 2024.
