President Joe Biden has unveiled his budget, which includes more of the same Democratic party tax-and-spend policies that have caused inflation and have failed to “build” America “back better.” In response, Republicans are standing firmly against the Biden budget plan, calling it dead on arrival in Congress.

The proposal was criticized by numerous Republican lawmakers in both the House and Senate. The House GOP's leadership group, consisting of Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), and Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY), explicitly stated that Biden's budget demonstrated the "identical left-wing spending policies that have resulted in record inflation and our present debt crisis."

As projected by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the national debt is projected to grow to almost twice the size of the entire economy in the next 30 years. In addition, the federal government is estimated to spend more than $10 trillion on interest alone in the next decade. Despite collecting the highest tax revenue from American families, federal spending is on the rise, leading to a significant increase in the country's debt. In fact, the federal government now spends $1.29 for every dollar it collects.
Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) expressed that he considers a budget request that emphasizes tax increases and increased spending, rather than reducing spending and alleviating the economic strain on the nation, to be highly unwise. Representative Bob Good (R-VA) also conveyed that Americans are experiencing the negative outcomes of unsatisfactory economic policies implemented by the Biden administration, such as higher costs for basic necessities like groceries, fuel, and medical services.
In contrast, Biden’s budget proposal fails to recognize the nation’s fiscal crisis. It includes trillions in new taxes that families will pay, resulting in higher costs for goods and services. Furthermore, Republican Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Jodey Arrington pointed out that inflation has soared due to Biden’s policies, with the prospect of a sustained economic recession. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) went on to say that the president’s budget request fails to address the most complex and challenging threats to our national security in decades.
The budget proposal presented by Biden and the Democrats appears to lack sincerity in their efforts to reduce expenses and alleviate the financial pressure faced by Americans. It seems wasteful, lacking in seriousness, and has fallen behind schedule. The proposal favors non-defense expenses, which cater to the unrealistic green energy objectives of the far-left and will adversely impact our economy. It relies on gimmicks that simply delay the pressing issue of unsustainable spending that has plagued the federal government for an extended period. As a result, Congress will have to confront these challenges in the future.
To sum up, President Biden's budget proposal is seen as another example of an overly extensive bureaucratic system that will have an adverse impact on working families. This proposal further highlights his disregard for the existing deficit that the United States is currently facing. It's imperative that he collaborates with Republicans, who are willing to explore solutions that will benefit all Americans, rather than just catering to his radical supporters. The Republicans are determined to prevent the passage of this proposal in Congress, as it is perceived to be doomed from the start.
