Stacey Plaskett, a Democrat Virgin Islands delegate recently spoke on MSNBC about President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents before making a statement that has stirred the internet. While discussing Trump’s ability to share classified information, she went ahead to say that “he needs to be shot”, before quickly correcting herself by adding, “stopped”. However, this did not stop the video from going viral on social media, with Twitter users making comments and calling her statement a ‘Freudian slip’.

Steve Quest a Conservative communicator tweeted, “imagine the outrage if a Republican said this about a Democrat”. It is indeed shocking that when Democrats make such threats, it is brushed aside or excused. Plaskett who has served as an impeachment manager in the case against Trump in 2021 was one of those who argued that Trump was “singularly responsible” for the January 6th Capitol riot and is known for her anti-Trump views.
Despite Plaskett saying that Americans should be terrified that Trump had classified documents, recent polls indicate that Trump is gaining more support from GOP. Plaskett also claimed that Trump is “going to have his day in court” after he pleaded not guilty to 37 federal charges. While this statement has left individuals questioning the veracity of claims of probable cause for indictments and trials, it is evident that the Democrats’ plot to smear and assault Trump’s reputation continues.
In conclusion, it is high time that these members of Congress learn to engage in healthy and unbiased discussions about issues instead of making hateful and violent comments about leaders they disagree with. The Democrats want to act righteous while they lose the consent and trust of the American people. Who wants representatives that are too blinded by hate to discuss politics in a civil and humane manner?
