These revelations strengthen claims that the massive surge, which has resulted in a border crisis, is being orchestrated by the Biden administration. The documents show that Mexican immigration authorities detected a spike in apprehensions since May, signaling an increase in border crossings. Additionally, federal agencies documented a significant buildup of migrants at the border in early September.
The Biden administration’s response to the border crisis has been embarrassingly ineffective. The White House has tried to shift the blame to Republicans, claiming that GOP lawmakers are responsible for the problem because they have obstructed the president’s immigration reform proposals. Since Biden took office, nearly 7 million illegal aliens have been “encountered,” with close to 3 million being released into the US. This is the highest number ever recorded. It is abundantly clear that the border is not secure, and it is by design.
It is high time for the Biden administration to take responsibility and implement effective policies to secure the border. The American people deserve better than their current disregard for the rule of law and national security. Republicans like Chip Roy of Texas have rightly criticized the administration for allowing Mexican drug cartels to gain control of the southern border. As Roy passionately declared, “The president and this administration can go straight to hell.” It is time for real action, not empty words and failed policies.
