In a move that surprised absolutely no one, the House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) took to the podium for yet another press conference this morning at the ungodly hour of 11:30 a.m. ET. It’s almost as if these politicians have never heard of sleeping in. But I digress.

Jeffries, clearly relishing in the opportunity to hear himself speak, used the press conference as a platform to spew his usual rhetoric. He didn’t waste any time before launching into his tirade against his Republican colleagues, accusing them of everything from being out of touch with the American people to having terrible taste in ties.
Not one to miss an opportunity for self-promotion, Jeffries also managed to sprinkle in a few references to his own accomplishments – or shall we say lack thereof. From his grandstanding on the House floor to his attempts to pass meaningless resolutions, it’s clear that Jeffries is more interested in creating soundbites than actually getting anything done.
As the press conference came to a close, reporters rushed to their keyboards to churn out the latest “Breaking News” stories, eager to regurgitate Jeffries’ talking points. And so, the never-ending cycle of partisan bickering and empty promises continues in Washington. Don’t you just love democracy?
