Donald Trump is showing his strength when it comes to his influence on the political left. In a recent development, former Vice President Mike Pence has been ordered to testify about his conversations with Trump before and during the January 6 Capitol riot. While Pence will be allowed to decline questions about his own actions, this unprecedented decision by Federal Judge James Boasberg is nothing more than a barbaric move by the left to undermine the Republican Party.

Pence has previously challenged the subpoena issued by Special Counsel Jack Smith in February, as he felt that the “speech and debate” clause in his role as the working member of the Legislature on that day would protect him from such legal proceedings. However, it seems that his request has been denied in practice, as a source close to Pence commented that it goes to the heart of separation of powers issues.

It seems that even former Trump officials, including his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, will also have to testify or risk consequences of executive privilege. But while Jacob and Short have testified, Pence’s team is still waiting for permission to appeal.
It is unfortunate that this piece of news has not captured the attention of the main stream media, but it just goes to show the lengths that the left will go to in order to undermine the Republican Party. As it stands, free speech and political sovereignty in the US are under threat more than ever before.
