Poll Reveals Trump Support Unshaken by Charges, Tied with Biden in Race

In a recent poll, it was found that despite facing criminal charges, many people still support former President Donald Trump. The poll, conducted by Quinnipiac University, showed that 46% of those surveyed believe Mr. Trump engaged in illegal activities, while 45% disagree. Additionally, 27% of people think his actions were unethical but not illegal, and 18% see no fault in what he did.

Interestingly, the poll also found that Mr. Trump’s supporters are standing by him. Even if he is convicted, 62% of his supporters said their vote would remain unchanged, with 15% more likely to support him and only 21% less likely. This shows that the ongoing trial may not have a significant impact on Mr. Trump’s political standing.

Mr. Trump has been vocal about his innocence, pleading not guilty to all charges. He has dismissed the trial as “political persecution” and raised concerns about its timing, suggesting that it unfairly benefits President Biden by keeping him away from the campaign trail.

The poll also indicates a close race between Mr. Trump and President Biden, both receiving 46% support among voters. When including independent candidates, the two main candidates are tied at 37%. President Biden faces his own challenges, with a job approval rating at a low 35% and an increase in disapproval of his job performance to 61%.

The ongoing criminal trial against Mr. Trump might not be having the expected impact on his political prospects. Despite the legal controversies, his support remains strong, and the race with President Biden seems to be very close.
