REPORT: Trump Played HUGE Role In McCarthy’s Success

Kevin McCarthy, who is currently the House speaker, was able to secure the majority of votes after Donald Trump helped him with the necessary support.

Trump reportedly helped House Republicans reach a compromise after they initially opposed McCarthy's election.

After several rounds of voting, McCarthy was elected as the new House speaker. Some Republican congressmen claimed that Trump helped persuade holdouts to support McCarthy.

Jordan praised Trump for his help. He noted that this achievement would not have been possible without the former president's leadership. Byron Donalds also praised Trump for his role in the achievement.

Although Donalds initially supported McCarthy, he eventually withdrew his support after it became clear that he didn't have the necessary votes.

Trump called several Republican congressmen, including Andy Biggs and Matt Gaetz, late Friday night. They both opposed McCarthy's election as the new speaker.

Trump reportedly told the congressmen that McCarthy's election had to be resolved since it was dragging on for several days. After the election, McCarthy thanked Trump for supporting him.
