It is truly astounding how far San Francisco has fallen under the reign of progressive policies. The deterioration of this once vibrant city is documented daily, with videos and photos showcasing the rampant lawlessness and chaos that now plague its streets. In the latest chapter of this dystopian saga, Safeway stores have installed gates that require customers to scan their receipts before they can exit the premises. Can you believe it? This is where we are now, folks.

According to KPIX reporter Betty Yu, these gates were implemented as a response to the skyrocketing levels of theft. And who can blame the stores for taking such drastic measures? San Francisco has become a shoplifter’s paradise, where criminals feel emboldened to walk into a store, grab whatever they want, and stroll out without consequence. It’s like a scene out of a bad 80s movie, but unfortunately, it’s the reality we are living in.

Of course, the progressive apologists will argue that these gates are simply a necessary precaution to deter shoplifting. But let’s be honest, if shoplifting wasn’t off the charts in San Francisco, these measures wouldn’t be necessary in the first place. Instead of addressing the root causes of this epidemic, such as the soft-on-crime policies that have become the norm in the city, the progressives would rather place the blame on the stores for trying to protect their merchandise.
And the insanity doesn’t end there. Even Walgreens, a staple of American convenience, has resorted to chaining up their freezers to prevent nightly raids on their pizza and ice cream. Yes, you heard that right. In San Francisco, stealing frozen treats has become an epidemic. It’s like a Scooby-Doo episode gone wrong, with criminals chasing after their favorite flavors instead of solving mysteries.
These developments are a stark reminder of the failure of progressive policies that prioritize the rights of criminals over the safety and security of law-abiding citizens. It’s a city that has lost its way, embracing a culture of lawlessness and moral decay.
