Sex Offender Arrested for Kidnapping Attempt at School

A man in Colorado was arrested for trying to kidnap a child at a school. The police got a call about someone approaching kids outside Black Forest Hills Elementary School. The man tried to grab a boy before running away before the police came. The police later found a man who matched the suspect’s description, named Solomon Galligan. He is a registered sex offender and was charged with attempted kidnapping.

Surveillance video showed Galligan trying to grab children on the field. Luckily, the children ran away and yelled “stranger danger” to warn adults. Galligan was seen stumbling over a blanket while trying to grab a child, allowing the child to escape. This is not Galligan’s first offense; he was previously convicted in 2012 for failing to register as a sex offender in Jefferson County.

After the incident, parents were informed that recess ended early and students were brought inside for safety. The school staff also mentioned that they would review security protocols following the incident. Galligan is currently in jail on a $25,000 bond.

It is alarming to hear about someone with a history of not following sex offender registration laws attempting to harm children. This incident underscores the importance of vigilant supervision and strong security measures in schools to protect our children from potential threats. Parents should always be aware of their surroundings and teach their children about safety procedures to prevent such incidents from happening.

The quick response from law enforcement and the alertness of the children in this situation likely prevented a tragic outcome. It is crucial for communities to work together to keep kids safe and for authorities to take decisive action against individuals who pose a danger to society, especially when it comes to crimes against children.
