Let’s get to the bottom of this gas stove controversy with Vice President Kamala Harris, shall we? It seems the veep and her second hubby, Doug Emhoff, are lighting up some sparks on social media over a cozy kitchen snapshot showing them standing next to a good ol’ gas stove. Now, you might be thinking, “What’s the big deal?” Well, hold your horses, because this is where the plot thickens.
The Biden administration has been making moves to rein in the use of gas stoves, raising eyebrows among the conservative crowd. So, when Harris posted the picture with the caption, “Merry Christmas to all. May your day be filled with love, family, and good food,” it wasn’t just the snug Christmas wishes that caught attention. Nah, it was the fact that they were prepping a beef Wellington on a *gasp* gas stove! Cue the gasps from the conservative corner.

Representative Mike Collins, bless his heart, didn’t shy away from pointing out the apparent contradiction, asking, “Is that another gas stove?” And it seems Mary Vought couldn’t help but note the irony, questioning, “I thought we’re supposed to eat less red meat for the climate?” Talk about a sizzling hot topic!
And this wasn’t the first time Harris found herself in hot water over cozy kitchen pics. It seems a Thanksgiving photo also raised a few eyebrows, but let’s not get sidetracked by leftovers.
The Biden administration had some ambitious plans about skipping down the path of banning gas stoves, with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s bigwig, Richard Trumka Jr., even rattling about a potential ban. But, as it turns out, this idea went up in smoke faster than you can say “beef Wellington” when it was revealed that the ban would only apply to new stoves, not the trusty old ones.

The House of Representatives swooped in with an amendment that blocked the Department of Energy from cranking up those strict new regulations for gas stoves, and get this, even some Democrats joined the fray! With a vote of 251 to 181, the amendment got the green light, and 29 Democrats jumped ship to sail alongside the GOP.
As it turns out, a hefty 40 million American households are using natural gas to whip up their culinary delights. So, it’s no surprise that this kitchen caper with Harris and Emhoff was enough to get Twitter feeds steaming. But when Fox News Digital reached out for comment, crickets chirped from the White House and the veep’s office.
