A man, identified as James Cooper, crashed his car into President Joe Biden’s motorcade on Sunday night, and boy, oh boy, did he cause a frenzy! According to investigators, Cooper, 46 years old, was zooming along at lightning speed when he smashed his white Ford sedan right into a dark SUV that was dutifully waiting for President Biden during a pit stop in Wilmington, Delaware. And get this, folks – Cooper was allegedly under the influence at the time of the crash. Can you believe it?
The Wilmington Police Department concluded their investigation (which was probably as draining as trying to find a needle in a haystack) and found that the collision was just a big ol’ accident. They slapped Cooper with charges of Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol and Inattentive Driving, and then they released him from custody. It’s too bad they didn’t throw in a charge for causing a ruckus as well!

President Biden, fortunately, wasn’t chilling in the vehicle when it got whacked. Instead, he was making his way from another car in the motorcade when the chaos ensued. And, let me tell you, the footage from the incident is like something straight out of an action movie. Biden quickly glanced back, probably wondering if he forgot to turn off the stove, before Secret Service whisked him away to safety. Phew, talk about a close call!
The SUV that got smacked was there to keep the traffic at bay during the president’s gathering, and boy, did it take a beating. After crashing into the vehicle, Cooper reportedly tried to bulldoze his way into a metal barricade, prompting officers to whip out their weapons and take aim at his car. Yikes, what a sight that must’ve been!
The Secret Service reassured the public that despite the commotion, the president’s motorcade kept on truckin’ after the fender-bender. They also made it clear that Cooper didn’t pose any further threat to Biden or First Lady Jill Biden. Phew, thank goodness for that!
