On Monday, former NFL quarterback Brett Favre made a bold and brave move by calling for a boycott of Fox News. Favre, who is known for his conservative views, expressed his support for the recently fired Tucker Carlson in a social media post. He urged others to join him in boycotting Fox News until they bring Carlson back on air. Favre’s call to action comes as no surprise as Carlson has been a conservative voice on the network for years.
Megyn Kelly, a former Fox News host, revealed that the network was trying to silence Carlson in an effort to rebuild its audience. Kelly claimed that Fox News was relying on the loyalty of its viewers to keep them tuned in, even in the face of controversy. It’s evident that Fox News is trying to suppress conservative voices. They black-listed one of the most prominent conservative voices on their network and silenced him indefinitely.
Favre believes that Fox News needs to let Carlson speak and that viewers should hold the network accountable by boycotting it until they do. He urged his followers to turn to alternative sources for their news, rather than returning to Fox News out of habit. Favre tweeted, “I’m with Tucker. Time to boycott Fox until they come to their senses and let the man speak.”

Kelly, a former host at the network, has been extremely critical of Fox since Tucker’s release. Last week Kelly reported that Fox lost around two-thirds of its audience. This includes a 39% decrease in viewership during the 9 p.m. Hannity show and a 24% decrease in the key demographic during the 10 p.m. hour. It’s clear that the network is losing touch with its conservative viewers. Even the 11 p.m. hour saw a decrease in viewership – it’s time for Fox News to listen.
Fox News needs to wake up and realize they exist because of the millions of conservative voices across America. They need to reevaluate their programming decisions and start giving a voice to the conservative base. Until then, conservatives need to turn to alternative sources for their news. It’s time for Fox News to put their viewers before their profits.
