Dan Bongino, a conservative commentator, has said that former President Donald Trump should refuse to pay bail when he turns himself in to Georgia officials. This is a bold and brave idea. Bongino, who used to work for the Secret Service, thinks that President Trump is right for these "crazy times" and that Fulton County needs a "crazy solution" to handle his prosecution.

Bongino says that Trump should voluntarily go to jail, which would make him the first person in history to be locked up for political reasons. He says that if this act passes, the Secret Service would have to stand guard and the whole jail would have to close. Bongino says that the Secret Service has the power to make any place, even a prison cell, a legally protected area. It's an unusual idea, but it could show how ridiculous Trump's pursuit is.
Some people may think this idea is crazy, but it's important to remember that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and local cops have promised to treat Trump like any other prisoner. They are going to take his picture and put him through the same screening steps. A former president who posted on Truth Social about being arrested on behalf of his fans shouldn't be treated this way.
During a recent discussion, it was interesting that the candidates were asked if they would pardon President Trump if they were elected. Some people flat-out said no, while others, like anti-Trump candidate Chris Christie, seemed unsure and said they needed more information. It's clear that Trump's foes don't want to take a stand against what they think is a politically-motivated criminal case against him.
The accusations against Trump in Georgia are about a plot by 18 people, including Rudy Giuliani, to change the results of the 2020 election. Trump himself has strongly denied these accusations. It's clear that there's a plan to go after the former president and get rid of people who back him.
It's nice to see someone like Bongino think outside the box and come up with creative ideas to fight what seems to be a politically motivated effort against Trump. The idea of willingly going to jail might sound crazy, but sometimes it takes a little bit of crazy to show how crazy those are who try to silence conservative views and put people in jail. It's time to stand up for Trump and support this bold plan to fight the unfair treatment he's getting.
