Elon Musk Warns of Security Risk With Apple Devices and Threatens to Ban Them from His Companies
In a recent announcement from Apple, the company revealed that new software on iPhones will feature an artificial intelligence aspect as it updates its voice assistant, Siri. This update will allow Siri to connect to Open AI’s ChatGPT chatbot. Apple specified that the connection to Open AI is optional, as it will also rely on its own AI technology.
Following Apple’s news, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X, indicated that he might prohibit Apple devices at his companies due to the potential security breach. Musk raised concerns about the integration of Open AI at the operating system level and emphasized the need to prioritize security. He also mentioned storing visitor’s Apple devices in a Faraday cage to address the security issue.
