Republicans Left “Speechless” as Senior FBI Official Admits She Hasn’t Read Durham Report
In a shocking revelation, a senior FBI official admitted during a hearing on Tuesday that she hasn’t read the Durham Report. The Durham Report is a long-awaited assessment by the special counsel that found no evidence to support the “collusion” allegations between Trump and the Russian government and concluded that the infamous probe should never have been opened. U.S. Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX), chair of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence, expressed his disbelief at Murphy’s admission and recommended reading the Durham Report. He emphasized that the report specifically outlines the outcome of the four-year discussion of uncorroborated evidence. “It’s very disappointing to hear this,” Pfluger said.

U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) was also astonished to hear that Murphy hadn’t been briefed on the report. He asked if anyone at the FBI had read it, to which Murphy could not name anyone who had. Bishop expressed his disbelief and disappointment that no one at the FBI had bothered to read the report.
In addition to admitting to not reading the Durham Report, Murphy also refused to say whether the FBI would be making any changes to the way it conducts counterintelligence operations. This is a worrying development for Republicans who are concerned about the FBI’s conduct in recent years.
During the hearing, U.S. Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) asked Murphy for her opinions on the three FBI whistleblowers who testified before the House Judiciary Select Committee on the weaponization of the federal government last week. Murphy expressed support for whistleblower protection acts and defended the FBI’s work. However, Crane challenged her loyalty to the American people and whether she was embarrassed or disgusted with what the FBI has been up to.
