On Sunday’s airing of “Meet the Press,” liberal NBC news host Chuck Todd accused Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of “politicizing” schools by approving curriculum that teaches children about the dastardly nature of communism. Todd also implied that DeSantis’ motive for teaching children about the evils of communism was to attract Florida’s Cuban-American population.
NBC's Chuck Todd accused DeSantis of playing politics when he told an audience in Vegas that every November 10th, Florida schools teach kids about the dangers of communism.

But, what’s wrong with educating students on the atrocities committed by communist regimes throughout history? Nothing. In fact, DeSantis is a hero for taking this bold stance, as he continues to push back against the Democratic Party’s agenda to indoctrinate innocent children with woke nonsense.

It’s not enough for the left to control social media and mainstream news; they are now using schools to spread their agenda. Thankfully, DeSantis’ Florida is leading the charge in fighting against them.
Even liberal Politico columnist Jonathan Martin was in agreement with Todd, going so far as to say that fighting “wokeism” is the “singular, cohesive unifying force” for Republicans. Martin goes further to say that the Republicans do not have any policy agenda, which is patently false.
In fact, Republican policies are exactly what’s needed to save the United States from the disastrous effects of Democrat policy failures. DeSantis understands this, which is why he has signed House Bill 395 into law, establishing November 7 as “Victims of Communism Day.”
He’s not stopping there. In 2021, DeSantis announced state programs to educate students about communism. In a statement, he emphasized that “Honoring the people that have fallen victim to communist regimes and teaching our students about those atrocities is the best way to ensure that history does not repeat itself.”
DeSantis’ stance is commendable, especially given the prevalence of whitewashing communism’s role in history. Florida isn’t whitewashing anything – it’s preserving the truth and becoming a beachhead for freedom. The next time Chuck Todd criticizes DeSantis for his efforts, he might want to take a history lesson himself.
