The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is in hot pursuit of the truth behind the ship malfunction and the subsequent collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The head honcho at NTSB, Jennifer Homendy, is gearing up for a long and arduous task ahead. She says it might take up to two years for her team to sift through all the details and unearth the root cause of this tragedy.

Homendy is quick to reassure everyone that despite the monumental task at hand, her crack team is up for the challenge. She’s talking about urgent safety recommendations, timelines, and a whole lot of technical jargon. It’s going to take a while before we get any real answers. In the meantime, our nerves are all tied up in knots wondering what went wrong and who’s to blame.
The investigators didn’t waste any time getting on board the culprit – the Dali, a ship hailing all the way from Singapore. They combed through every nook and cranny, grilled the captain and crew members, and even snagged some electronic gadgets and paperwork.
The crew of the ship, mostly from India, are in the spotlight. One of them needed stitches, but the rest seem to be doing just fine. On the other side of this tragic tale, we have six workers who lost their lives on that fateful day. These hardworking souls, from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, were just trying to fix some potholes when disaster struck.

Recovery efforts are on hold until the debris is cleared, and the site of the collapse remains a haunting scene of destruction. The bodies of two workers have been recovered, but there are still more to find. It’s a race against time to bring closure to the families of the victims and to piece together the puzzle of what went wrong that tragic day.
