During a recent Fox News segment, Peter Doocy questioned John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesperson, about the Biden administration’s plans to investigate China in the event that the Wuhan lab leak is confirmed as the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than providing a direct response, Kirby expressed the President’s desire for the intelligence community to diligently gather information to obtain reliable answers.

The lack of response from the Biden administration regarding inquiries regarding the Wuhan lab leak and its possible association with the COVID-19 pandemic is alarming, especially with the release of declassified documents that propose the virus could have originated from the lab. Moreover, it is worrisome that Dr. Anthony Fauci has been accused of channeling funds through an intermediary organization to finance gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.
The Biden administration owes the American people an explanation and responsibility, and it is essential that President Biden takes action and holds China responsible if it is confirmed that the Wuhan lab leak is the cause of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, the Senate passed the “COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023” bill, which mandates the Director of National Intelligence to disclose all intelligence connected to COVID-19’s origins. Now, it is the President’s responsibility to endorse this bill and ensure that China is held accountable for any responsibility it may have in this global health crisis.
