In a bold move, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) led a vote in the House to move forward with an impeachment case against President Joe Biden. The 219-208 vote was a clear message to Biden that he is not above the law and will not be allowed to continue his reckless policies. Boebert’s motion charged Biden with “high crimes and misdemeanors” based on his administration’s handling of the crisis at the Southern border, which has put every American at risk.

Boebert did not mince her words when she tweeted that the American people can no longer be subjected to a President who refuses to secure our borders. His open border agenda has allowed human traffickers to thrive and given the cartel a free pass. Boebert rightfully declared that Biden is not fit to remain as Commander in Chief.

The move to impeach Biden was not without controversy. Key Republicans opposed it, as it went against the regular process. But Boebert was determined to hold Biden accountable for his actions. She brought a privileged resolution to the floor, which allowed lawmakers to force a vote without going through the committee. Speaker Kevin McCarthy called the move “flippant”, and Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said he wished Boebert had gone about it a different way.
Despite the opposition, Boebert’s motion to impeach Biden is a step in the right direction. America’s security should always come first. Biden’s careless policies have only made matters worse and put Americans in danger.
