Oregon Libs Flip Script, Tackling Drug Menace Head-On!

The liberal loonies in Oregon finally came to their senses and realized that decriminalizing hard drugs was a downright bad idea. It’s like they were all living in la-la land, thinking that giving a thumbs-up to Measure 110 was going to solve anything. Thankfully, on Tuesday, Gov. Tina Kotek, a Democrat, got her act together and signed legislation that pulls the state out of this drug-induced stupor.

This new law, HB 4002, puts the smackdown on so-called personal use possession of hard drugs, making it a misdemeanor with a punishment of up to six months in the slammer. And get this – it allows the cops to snatch those drugs right out of people’s grubby hands and put a stop to their use on sidewalks and in parks. About time they cracked down on this nonsense!

Plus, instead of just throwing these drug users behind bars, the law gives them a chance to get the help they need by diverting them to addiction and mental health services. It’s like saying, “Hey, we’re not just gonna let you rot in jail – we actually want to help you get clean and turn your life around.”

Of course, the Republicans, who actually have some common sense, are all for this new law. Oregon House Republican Leader Jeff Helfrich and Senate Republican Leader Tim Knopp are giving Gov. Kotek a pat on the back for finally seeing the light. They’re preaching about the “drug addiction crisis” and how this new law is the first step in the right direction.

So, it’s back to reality for Oregon – kicking the drug habit and putting a stop to this crazy experiment with decriminalizing hard drugs. Let’s hope this new legislation can help the state clean up its act and get back on track.
