It’s no secret that the liberal media has been on a mission to take down Republican Congressman George Santos ever since he was charged with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives. But their attempts to uncover the truth about who helped Santos post his $500,000 bond ended up with egg on their faces, proving that their biased reporting has reached a new low.

The media, including NBCUniversal News Group, had requested that the court unseal and make public documents with the names of Santos’s bond guarantors, hoping to find a connection to the GOP or a shadowy PAC. But it turns out, Santos’s dad and his aunt were the ones who guaranteed his bond. The media was left disappointed as they were hoping for a “gotcha” moment, but instead found themselves with nothing.
Santos’s lawyer had argued against publishing the names because they might “suffer great distress, may lose their jobs, and God forbid, may suffer physical injury.” The media’s insistence on publishing these names despite the potential harm it could cause shows their complete disregard for the safety and privacy of individuals.
Despite the media’s attempts to bring him down, Santos remains unbroken. He still plans to run for reelection next year, despite ongoing investigations at the federal, state, and local levels. In an interview with reporters on Capitol Hill, Santos explained that he kept his family members’ identities secret because he was concerned about their safety. He went on to say that his dad and aunt are “honest working people,” debunking the media’s conspiracy theories about the source of the money.
It’s time for the liberal media to stop their biased reporting and focus on the facts. George Santos has pleaded not guilty to all charges and deserves his day in court. Until then, the media should be ashamed of their attempts to politicize this case and endanger the safety of innocent individuals.
